This weekend will see the showing by Solas Eige at the Eigg community hall of the film "Sailm nan Daoine / Psalms of the People", a road trip across Scotland and Ireland to explore the tradition of Gaeilic psalm singing, an entertaining and heart-warming film about the power of community, family and the resilience needed to keep a language alive. The film will be accompanied by a traditional strubag: tea and drop scones made with Peigi Kirk's recipe!
A psalm workshop will follow at the Solas EIge Centre at 11 am on the Sunday! We are all very much looking forward to this experience. Probably a good 20 years since psalms would have been sung in Gaelic in that lovely space!
